Coverage Rates (Nepal & Indian PWD Norms)

Unlike generic calculators, this tool specifically applies the standard engineering coverage constants followed by contractors and civil engineers in Nepal and India (CPWD/PWD specifications). Always account for an additional 5% to 10% wastage when purchasing materials.

Paint Coverage Rates

  • First Coat: 11.00 m² per Liter
  • Subsequent Coats: 14.28 m² per Liter
  • Wall Primer: 12.34 m² per Liter

*The first coat absorbs more paint into the fresh plaster, hence the lower coverage area.

Putty Coverage Rates

  • Standard Requirement: 2.28 kg per m²
  • Standard Thickness: 2mm application

*Calculated for application over a standard smooth cement plastered wall.

How to Use the Paint & Putty Estimator

  1. Input Room Dimensions: Enter the exact length, breadth, and height of the room in either meters or feet.
  2. Ceiling Preference: Check the box if you intend to paint the ceiling as well. (The tool will automatically calculate the ceiling area).
  3. Deduct Openings: Enter the number of doors and windows, along with their standard dimensions. The calculator automatically subtracts this empty space from the total wall area.
  4. Select Coats: Choose the number of paint coats (usually 2 for standard finish) and primer coats required.
  5. Switch to Putty: Click the "Putty Calculator" tab to instantly see how many kilograms of wall putty are required to prepare the same room.
